t-time Spotlight: Solange

Solange Knowles’ New Album
Uploaded by tvguide

I’m loving me some Solange these days. I think her music is great, the videos are fun and she’s a good job of being the anti-Beyonce. I’m happy for her and think she will finally be able to crawl out from under that monstrous size Beyonce Rock she’s been pinned under her entire life. Everyone however, doesn’t seem to thnk so, from The Black Snob:

Solange is an average, but pretty performer who tries really, really hard and because of this I know that if she weren’t the other daughter of Tina and Matthew Knowles, the parents who produced Beyonce, she would be doing anything but singing. She’d be in college. Or she’d be working at a bank or sewing in your weave. But she wouldn’t be singing for her supper.

very performance Solange gives will be like she just had to come on stage after her sister ripped it up dress in an homage to Josephine Baker while singing “Crazy In Love.” It doesn’t matter if Beyonce isn’t anywhere in the room. That’s what everyone is thinking.

Now I think that is a bit harsh. No. She isn’t her sister, but I don’t believe the only reason she is in the business is because of Beyonce. Hell, it seems like she would be more incline not to be in the business with her sister being as big as she is. Anywho, here’s wishing Ms. Knowles the best in her budding music career…again.
