Viacom’s Bitchassness Has Ruined YouTube
YouTube is no good anymore thanks to the Bitchassness of Viacom. The big case the Bitches at Viacom bought against Youtube has had a chilling effect on the folks working it out over there. Most non-user generated videos have been disabled or if you’re lucky enough to get ahold of them thery are “no longer available.” Talk about annoying.
What Viacom and the other media conglomerates don’t seem to understand is that the old business models are dead. And have been dead (or dying) for some time now. Youtube and it’s users help make show like the Colbert Report and The Daily Show. It was folk uploading clips and then folks taking those clips and placing them ont heir websites that help make these shows popular and their hosts pop culture icons.
Youtube helped introduce older acts to a newer generation and helped folks who have been out of touch with the music scene find their favorite artists from their youth. It’s bought international music stars to the attention of American listeners and vice versa. YouTube was like a flower that needed it’s pollen spread and us viewers were the bees. But now it’s over. Thanks to the short-sighted, bonehead, greedy-ass thinking of Viacom and its handlers.
R.I.P. YouTube.
I will miss you.
