The Real Housewives of Atlanta Ep. 2 “The Birthday Party” - Recap
Who spends $18,000 on an 11 year-old’s birthday party?
Apparently if your name is Kim and you call your boyfriend Big Poppa you do.
Geez.
And so goes the second episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
For $18,000 I needed a pony and a circus but instead I got a limo and a fashion show at a jean boutiques…oh and the just turned 11 year-old got a$1600 Loius Vuitton handbag. Must be nice.
NeNe commiserates with her gay friend over lunch about the events of last night’s shindig where she didn’t get into Sheree’s birthday party. The gay friend advices to let the drama pass and besides he hints that he’s got the dirt on the Bitches anyway…so they best play cool.
We watch the Hartwell’s continue to be head over heels in love. Mr. Hartwell tells the world that his first priority is his wife (awww) as he dotes on her and cooks her homemade chicken soup because she’s fallen ill. We see why she’s sick…the woman runs ragged with meetings and showing homes (to Jazzy Pha no less)…and this is after a nice litle golf game that I’m assuming happened in the same day…or couple days. Ms. Wu needs to sit down somewhere and take a break as per her husband’s instructions.
There was potential drama as Sheree announces that she wants to go to Kim’s daughter’s b-day party and Kim (with best friend Cori) isn’t having it. Sheree confirms that she and NeNe made up. NeNe claimes sheree said “I apologize,” but not “I’m sorry.” Note to NeNe: They’re synonymous. Alas, there was no drama. Everyone played nice and the birthday party went off without a hitch…except for Kim wanting to cut the do nothing party planner.
Oh and we learn that NeNe’s oldest son Brice finds his mother embarrassing though she means well as they go on a tour of Clark Atlanta University where Brice is (hopefully) going to attend school.
DeShawn continues to search for staff, as the chick from last episode didn’t work out. Seems like chicky had some ish in her past she didn’t want coming up…didn’t want to submit her salary requirements and other necessary paper work…seems like chicky may have been lying about some of those credentials.
DeShawn goes on to interview personal assistant candidates and we learn that she’s none to happy if you don’t take the time to Google her and her family before coming to an interview. And she’s right. How you gonna go into an interview and not know anything about the company?
Oh, we learned that not only does Sheree have a Shoe Guy…she has 1000 pairs of shoes and growing. Yeah. Hope those rumors of her being broke is not true. If they are, I see a consignment shop in her future.
All in all this show was okay. Not that interesting overall and some of the conversation seemed force.
Final Grade: B-
