Weezy Had Top Selling Album of 08
I’m not sure I believe this is a good or bad thing. I’m definitely not a Weezy stan and while at times his lyrics are clever they are, just as often nonsensical, but people love him and he’s earned it.
The guy seriously never turned down 16 bars on someone else’s track. I really think he may be the hardest working man in hip hop. From Billboard.com:
Rapper Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III” (Cash Money/Universal) is far and away the top seller of 2008, netting 2.88 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. However, it’s the first time the best selling album of the year has sold less than 3 million since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991.
